Power tool battery packs
Tool packs repeat the same weld pattern thousands of times, so the line is built around programs, tooling plates and consistent strip feed rather than operator skill.
Project constraints
- 01
Each tool shell has its own cell layout and terminal position, so tooling changes are frequent.
- 02
Weld consistency matters more than peak current, because a weak spot fails in the field.
- 03
Buyers ask for a documented weld schedule before approving a batch.
Solution composition
Tooling per shell
Tooling plates are made per pack shell, so a new tool model is a plate change plus a stored program rather than a new machine.
Weld control
Inverter supplies with stored schedules and current monitoring keep the spot repeatable across shifts; the HD-2119 flags virtual or expelled welds during the run.
Documented approval
A sample pack is welded and sectioned before batch approval, and the schedule is recorded against the model.
